Brightcove Makes It Easier for Customers to Build for Amazon Fire TV

By Adam Flomenbaum

Brightcove – one of the largest providers of cloud solutions for delivering and monetizing video – yesterday announced an Amazon Fire TV web app kit that will make it easier for its customers to build apps for the over-the-top platform.

Amazon recently launched a Web App Starter Kit to make it easier to build media-oriented apps for the Fire TV. Taking advantage of this opportunity early, Brightcove is offering publishers a template to easily pull in content hosted in the Brightcove Video Cloud and make use of the widely used Brightcove Player. Publishers will be able to run ads against the content they are serving on Amazon Fire TV apps and track analytics about video consumption.

“With a vast number of premium content creators utilizing Brightcove’s solutions, it was a clear choice for us to move forward with creating the Brightcove-specific template,” said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Appstore. “It makes it easy for Brightcove publishers to get their content on Amazon Fire TV, and it’s extremely exciting for our customers who crave great content.”
