Body slamming its competition, WWE surpasses two million subscribers on YouTube

TV brands that rely on linear often shy away from having a strong – or at least fan-friendly YouTube presence. WWE has bucked this trend by surpassing two million subscribers to its channel today.

With two million plus subscribers WWE has passed the subscriber counts of some of its biggest competitors, including ESPN, UFC and FC Barcelona, furthering WWE’s position as one of the world’s most social brands. The channel features full-length versions of some of the most iconic matches in the organization’s history, and it capitalizes on the personalities of its divas and most recognizable stars. Although no one video has more than 5 million views, 73 of the channel’s videos have over 1 million views.

While WWE is not one of the United States’ four major sports, it is one the most influential brands on social media, with more than 190 million combined social media followers across 11 social media networks.

As WWE frequently dominates Twitter’s worldwide trending topics during its flagship Monday Night Raw broadcasts, to celebrate the brand’s YouTube achievement, here’s one of the most-viewed videos on its channel:
