At the Latin Grammys There Will Be Selfies

By Jordan Chariton

The 14th annual Latin Grammy Awards airs tonight on Univision, and fans will be part of the red carpet in an unprecedented way: interacting with their favorite celebrities through a live Google + Hangout video wall.

Fans will pop up on a video wall during the live pre-show broadcast from Las Vegas and will be able ask questions directly to the stars. For fans that aren’t in the Hangout, producers will pick the best Facebook and Twitter questions, featuring them on screen with social media host Alejandra Espinoza asking the questions.

Instagram is also invited to the party, as celebrity “selfies” will pop up on the virtual wall.

“We are pleased to partner with Twitter, Facebook and Google to make the 2013 Latin GRAMMYs one of the most engaging to date,” said Kevin Conroy, president, Digital and Enterprise Development, Univision Communications.
