Get ready for the first TV series inspired by an app. The All Recipes Dinner Spinner app is going to become Dinner Spinner, a half-hour Saturday morning show, starting Oct. 1. It will air on The CW Network, according to a press release.
Chef Gabe Kennedy will host Dinner Spinner. It’s a head-to-head competition featuring two contestants. The show will focus on healthy food choices. Kennedy’s website describes the chef as “…a world traveler and environmental advocate … raised in a family of healers.”
The Dinner Spinner app is from the social food website Allrecipes. According to the release:

It was also announced this week that ABC is picking up a pilot starring Zach Braff based on a podcast. It looks like TV is starting to look at the mobile industry for ideas for its programming now.
