AllrecipesGet ready for the first TV series inspired by an app. The All Recipes Dinner Spinner app is going to become Dinner Spinner, a half-hour Saturday morning show, starting Oct. 1. It will air on The CW Network, according to a press release.

Chef Gabe Kennedy will host Dinner Spinner. It’s a head-to-head competition featuring two contestants. The show will focus on healthy food choices. Kennedy’s website describes the chef as “…a world traveler and environmental advocate … raised in a family of healers.”

The Dinner Spinner app is from the social food website Allrecipes. According to the release:

Since its launch in 1997, the Seattle-based social site has served as a dynamic, indispensable resource for cooks of all skill levels seeking trusted recipes, entertaining ideas, everyday meal solutions, seasonal inspiration and practical cooking tips.

It was also announced this week that ABC is picking up a pilot starring Zach Braff based on a podcast. It looks like TV is starting to look at the mobile industry for ideas for its programming now.
