Zero Suit Samus Fan Art Featured on Kickstarter

By Maryann Yin

Artist Chris Furniss has created a video game fan art project called The 31 Days of Zero Suit Samus. He hopes to raise $20,000 to produce a printed edition of this project. Above, we’ve embedded a video about the Kickstarter project–what do you think?

This comic collection chronicles the daily life of Zero Suit Samus, the intergalactic bounty hunting heroine of the Metroid series. Furniss had posted the entire comic story during the summer of 2011 online at Wasabi Sunshine. The book will contain all 31 pieces as well as sketches, commentary from Furniss and writer Ross Rosenberg, bonus illustrations and a section of tributes from other professional artists.

Here’s more about the project: “The book itself will be a 8″x8” hardcover collection, with 58 gorgeously full-color pages. It may even feature all of the colors in existence, it is that full-color…Funds from this project will primarily go to the printing of this book and of the various backer rewards (shipping costs, too). The intent is to be able to print a large run, which will then supply stock for an eventual shop at Fangamer.net, as well as inventory for sale at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle in September.”
