YouTube Encourages 15 Minute Book Trailers

youtubelog.jpgToday YouTube announced that the upload limit for users has been increased to 15 minutes. Undoubtedly, authors around the country are already plotting 15 minute book trailers.

Not that we would advise authors to create 15 minute book trailers–this GalleyCat editor is a firm believer in the short and sweet school of book trailer-making. Nevertheless, how would you make a 15 minute book trailer? YouTube is actually hosting a contest for 15 minute videos, so you can enter your creation.

Here’s more about the contest: “We encourage you to take full advantage of this new time limit by making a video of your ’15 minutes of fame.’ Imagine that this video is all the world will ever know about you: what would you want to communicate? What will be the enduring stamp you’ve left on us all? Tag your video with ‘yt15minutes,’ upload it by Wednesday, August 4, and we’ll select a handful of people to truly gain their 15 minutes of fame by featuring them on the YouTube homepage in a future spotlight.”
