Yellow Lab Reader: GalleyCat’s Pet Parade Continues

By Jason Boog

Welcome to GalleyCat’s annual pet parade, a holiday display of literary pets around the globe. GalleyCat readers have sent in pictures all week–the largest response we’ve ever received to the pet parade. Look for more pet pictures over the next week.

Here’s more about the picture embedded above, from literary agent Rachelle Gardner: “I couldn’t pass up the chance to send you a photo of @ReaganTheLab (yes, he has his own Twitter account). Reagan is a 6-year-old yellow lab, 85 pounds of rambunctious, except when he is adorably sleeping with his head on my Bible like he is in this photo. Since my office is in my home, the two of us spend a lot of time together, and he likes to lie at my feet, half under my desk. His favorite things are hiking in the local Colorado foothills, playing in the snow, and carrying shoes around the house.”

Author Julie Zickefoose sent that picture of her Boston terrier, Chet Baker, chewing a Christmas bone.

Steven Seighman from Dzanc Books sent that picture of Pinky the Cat.

Sandra Scoppettone sent that picture of Hammett the dog.

Finally, we have a literary cat. Here’s more: “My name is Nishi Serrano, and my first published novel–Wandering Hallows Night–will be available August 2011 at Hellfire Publishing, along with a short horror story coming out in May. Goo is my cat and BFF–she likes to deck the halls with catnip! Goo and I love Mediabistro to keep us updated in the publishing world!”
