Wither Goes the Amazon E-Book?

By Jason Boog

images.jpgAmazon is developing ways to put Kindle books on cell phones, the company slyly revealed to the NY Times. The spokesperson would not reveal when the company intends to complete this project.

The news, coupled with the fact that Amazon is holding a highly-anticipated press conference on Monday, should keep all eyes on the Kindle e-reader next week. Stay tuned to GalleyCat for all the action. One GalleyCat editor spoke with the Washington Times about upcoming developments in the digital book market and we will have a correspondent at the Amazon press conference.

Here’s a quote from the NY Times: “Amazon said that it was working on making the titles for its popular e-book reader, the Kindle, available on a variety of mobile phones. ‘We are excited to make Kindle books available on a range of mobile phones,’ said Drew Herdener, a spokesman for Amazon. ‘We are working on that now.'” (Via MobileRead)
