Who’s the Lady Writer Melanie Griffith Jilted?

Did you catch that Page Six item this morning where a ghostwriter named Bonnie Robinson says, “Two years ago, [Melanie Griffith] promised to do her autobiography with me when she turned 50, which she will be this coming August. In fact, she shook hands on the deal and gave her solemn word,” only to find out during a chance encounter in Aspen that Griffith’s no longer interested, if she ever was? “I guess all the ‘mood’ elevators have also destroyed her memory,” Robinson snarked to the Post, “because she told me that she wouldn’t do the book and that she had no recollection of such a promise. Her mood was very bitchy.” (Says the woman who just made fun of a recovering addict!)

Well, I was rather curious as to who this spurned ghostwriter is, so I did me a little Google, and now I can’t help but wonder if she’s the same Bonnie Robinson who, describing herself as a “freelance entertainment journalist and TV producer,” attended at least one mediabistro.com workshop out on the West Coast—specifically, the one about working with celebrities on their autobiographies. “While I was aware of ghostwriting, I did not know exactly how to break into it even though I’ve been approached before,” this Ms. Robinson says. “[Laurel House]’s presentation and handouts were very helpful and I thought the seminar was very beneficial.” Sounds like she could use a few more pointers on deal-closing, though.
