Warner Bros. Pictures will produce a live-action adaptation of the Archie comics. This will be the first feature film about the Riverdale High teens.
Jason Moore, the director of Pitch Perfect, will helm this high school comedy. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the writer behind the Archie Meets Glee comic cross-over series, will write the script. Aguirre-Sacasa had this statement in the release:
Archie is the ultimate teenager and this movie will be the ultimate teenage movie-in the grand tradition of Sixteen Candles and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
