Wait, Rosie Used a Ghostwriter?

laurenslater-rosieodonnell.jpgSo I’m looking at the item Sarah wrote this morning about the ghostwriting firm that’s suing Lauren Slater, which includes the revelation that Slater worked on Rosie O’Donnell‘s Find Me. Well, okay, strictly speaking not a “revelation,” as Rosie gave Slater props two years ago, declaring Slater “wrote books that spoke directly to me” and would “be the literary weight / she is how I want to write / I can learn from her.”

Okay, here’s the part I’m wondering about: Remember the summer of 2005 and The Secret Society of Demolition Writers, the Random House anthology that featured twelve authors writing un-bylined short stories? Two of them were Slater and O’Donnell. I always thought I had pegged which of the stories they’d contributed—the fact that one was set at a women’s magazine was something of a dead giveaway—but now… Hmm. That’s all. Just… Hmm.
