Viz Media has picked up the North American rights to a culinary guidebook entitled Sushi: Jiro Gastronomy. It features notes from world renowned sushi chef Jiro Ono.
Here’s more from the press release: “The guidebook features descriptions of each type of sushi served in their omakase tasting menu, with commentary from Jiro Ono, and are accompanied by mouth-watering full-page photos. Readers will also learn the seasons in which the sushi is best served, the correct methods of eating it with either fingers or chopsticks, and how and when to use condiments.”
Ono, the mastermind behind the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Sukiyabashi Jiro, was profiled in the 2011 documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. The publication date has been scheduled for Fall 2016.
