34346182.JPGVintage published an “instant” paperback version of a Congressional report issued today, a book literally ripped from the headlines. That book, World at Risk: The Report of the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism, is a bookend to the 9/11 Report.

Chaired by chaired by former Senators Bob Graham and Jim Talent, the commission’s report predicts that terrorists will attack with a weapon of mass destruction before 2013–terrifying intelligence following the coordinated assault in Mumbai over the weekend.

The book is priced at $10.95, part of the paperback trend sweeping publishing as the recession deepens. Forbes has a chilling summary: “The commission believes that biological weapons are more likely to fall into terrorist hands than nuclear weapons, for both technical and security reasons, but the commission urges the incoming Obama administration to deal with both.”
