Viet Thanh Nguyen Wins the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction

Pulitzer Prize (GalleyCat)The 2016 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced at a ceremony in New York City earlier today. Four authors were included in the pool of this year’s winners.

The fiction award went to The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen. Grove Press, a Grove Atlantic imprint, published this book in April 2015.

The general non-fiction award went to Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS by Joby Warrick. Doubleday, a Penguin Random House imprint, published this book in September 2015.

The biography (or autobiography) award went to Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life by William Finnegan. Penguin Press, a Penguin Random House imprint, published this book in July 2015.

The history award went to Custer’s Trials: A Life on the Frontier of a New America by T.J. Stiles. Alfred A. Knopf, a Penguin Random House imprint, published this book in October 2015.

The poetry award went to Ozone Journal by Peter Balakian. The University Of Chicago Press published this book in March 2015.
