The Weinstein Company has released a teaser trailer for Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters, a movie adapted from Richelle Mead’s hit young adult series.

USA Today recently posted three stills from the movie set. The trailer and photos offer fans a first glimpse at Zoey Deutch as Rose Hathaway and Lucy Fry as Lissa Dragomir.

The author explained in a blog post that the franchise name will be Vampire Academy and this first film is called Blood Sisters. The film, helmed by Mean Girls director Mark Waters, is scheduled to come out on Valentine’s Day in 2014.

Razobill, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers Group, published the Vampire Academy book back in August 2007.

Mead wrapped up her six-part series back in December 2010. She has since launched Vampire Academy spin-off called Bloodlines. Book four, The Fiery Heart, comes out on November 2013.

The publisher announced that the title for the fifth book will be revealed if they collect 70,000 “likes” on the Bloodlines facebook page. As of this writing, the count is up to 67,880.  (via Yahoo! Movies)
