Use the Symbolitron: NaNoWriMo Tip #21

By Jason Boog

While working on your National Novel Writing Month manuscript, try using the Symbolitron. The free program will randomly generate an inspiring symbol or story prompt that can help you write your way out of writer’s block.

Here are a few random results from the Symbolitron: “The story where different styles of martial arts map to the three dimensions (height-width-depth),” “The psychological story where the locations map to the twelve months of the year” and “The story about space cargo haulers where the characters map to Celtic Gods.”

This is our twenty-first NaNoWriMo Tip of the Day. As writers around the country join the writing marathon this month, we will share one piece of advice or writing tool to help you cope with this daunting project.
