Does your prose feeling boring and repetitive? Try the cut-up machine to create some crazy new writing.

Simply visit the Cut-Up Machine at the Language Is Virus blog and feed it some text. It can be a boring passage you wrote or a page from your favorite out-of-copyright book. The mixed up text may inspire you with some unexpected images and phrases.

Check it out: “This is a cut-up machine working along similar principles to those used by William S. Burroughs in his own work. Basically it works along similar principles to photo-montage, create an new image of words out of whatever was put in. Type or copy & paste some text into the areas below and click on ‘Cut It Up.'”
