Tony Blair Journey.jpgFormer British Prime Minister Tony Blair will donate his £4.6 million advance from Random House UK and his profits from memoir sales to the Royal British Legion, a charity for war veterans. The A Journey hardcover carries a £25 price tag.

The Daily Mail wrote about the gesture: “Grieving families accepted that the seven-figure gift was ‘generous’, but they dismissed it as a ‘PR stunt’ intended only to assuage his guilt over the blood spilled on the battlefield.”

Blair will be signing copies of his memoir at Piccadilly’s Waterstone’s bookstore on September 8th. If you plan on attending, don’t forget to adhere to all the strict rules that will be enforced. (Via Book Bench)
