The James Patterson PageTurner Awards have been announced, with the top $100,000 prize going to Washington Center for the Book for its “One City, One Book” program. The $50,000 prizes went to 826 National and the University of Minnesota’s African American Read-In. 36 other bookstores and literary types benefited from $5000 prizes.
Thanks to the help of customers buying 2000 t-shirts at $10 each, Pandemonium Books will be saved – after staving off a hefty back tax bill.
