Tina Brown Rallies the Troops at Newsweek & The Daily Beast

TinaBrown.jpgThis morning author and editor Tina Brown sent an email about rising traffic at Newsweek and The Daily Beast.

Last November, The Daily Beast entered a “new media marriage” with Newsweek, putting Brown at the helm of both publications. We’ve included the text of her email below…

I wanted to extend huge congratulations to all of you on our extraordinary traffic milestone last month. It’s hard to imagine that in less than three years since the launch of The Daily Beast, traffic now exceeds 10.3 million monthly unique visitors and 67.6 million pageviews, half of it from visitors who bookmark the site and none of it paid—an amazing indication of reader loyalty and the power of our combined brands.

Newsweek meanwhile continues its transformation, and in just six months we have improved the magazine’s performance across every variable. Newsstand sales are up 30%, advertising pages up 88% and subscription renewals up a healthy 5% since the March redesign.

These accomplishments are testament to your incredible hard work and creativity. Onwards and upwards and have a great end of summer weekend.
