publishers-weekly-logo.gifThis morning more news of layoffs at Publishers Weekly surfaced. Along with Editor-in-chief Sara Nelson, the parent company also cut Executive Editor Daisy Maryles, Children’s Reviews Editor Elizabeth Devereaux, and Bookselling Editor Kevin Howell.

That news was reported at BookBrunch, which joined the NY Observer and the LA Times and Beyond Hall 8 in analyzing the layoffs.

Nelson spoke with BookBrunch, thanking the publishing community for their support: “It’s always hard to make this kind of break, but I’m very proud of what I accomplished at Publishers Weekly and I want to thank everyone and wish them well for the future … I loved the magazine. They couldn’t pay anyone to love it more than I did.” (Via Sarah Weinman)
