DreamWorks plans to shoot a film adaptation based on Paula Hawkins’ hit novel, The Girl on the Train. Three actresses have joined the cast: Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, and Haley Bennett.
Variety reports that Tate Taylor has been hired as the director. Erin Cressida Wilson has been brought on to adapt Hawkins’ book into a script.
Here’s more from Deadline: “Blunt plays Rachel, a recent divorcee who narrates the tale and spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day. One morning, she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds, involving the other two women.”
