This Must Be Philip Turner’s Week

Sterling Publishing was handing out copies of The United States v. I. Lewis Libby all weekend on the BookExpo floor, and as Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff received his thirty-month, $250,000 sentence this morning, the book is officially in stores with a 75,000-copy printing. The first book in Sterling’s Union Square Press line isn’t just splashy, though—at just $12.95 for more than 600 pages of material, it’s also a pretty significant bargain.

But that’s not all Union Square head Philip Turner (seen here chatting with Sonny Mehta at the PW/Strand party) has to celebrate this week. He’s also been promoted to vice-president and editorial director of all of Sterling’s non-illustrated books, as part of a wider re-org in the editorial department. So he’ll probably be in a good mood when you see him at US vs. Libby author Murray Waas‘s Greenwich Village B&N appearance tomorrow night.
