Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner won best adapted screenplay for their adaptation of Kirn’s Up in the Air at the Guild awards. In addition, screenwriter Mark Boal won best original screenplay for The Hurt Locker.

Last week, Kirn complained on Twitter that he hadn’t been invited to the Oscars. However, the NY Post reports he finally managed to score a ticket. Recently, Kirn tweeted: “is ready to take his big whack at the pinata known as the hollywood novel, even though the same cheap candy always ends up spilling out.”
