Mobile entertainment company Scopely is experimenting with the social reading and writing platform Wattpad for its The Walking Dead: Road to Survival mobile game.
The company will post one chapter at a time from the game’s narrative on Wattpad. Jay Bonansinga, co-author of The Walking Dead graphic novels, is writing the narrative, which is set in The Walking Dead Universe. Each chapter will have “life-or-death choices and paths not taken.” After all of the chapters have been released, Wattpad readers can enter stories for consideration in an actual in-game storyline.
“Expanding and adapting The Walking Dead universe with Scopely for The Walking Dead: Road to Survival has been a unique and exciting way to bring these fan-favorite characters to life beyond the page,” stated Bonansinga. “I can’t wait for Wattpad’s readers and fans of the series to get their hands on the brand new original chapters and share their own stories.”
