By Maryann Yin

alThe New York Public Library is hosting a multimedia exhibition honoring illustrator Al Hirschfeld.

The Line King’s Library” art show opened on October 17, 2013 and will run until January 4, 2014.

Visitors will find this exhibit at the Donald & Mary Oenslager Gallery inside the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts building. The New York Times reports that archivist David Leopold curated the exhibit.

This free program will feature an extremely rare 1969 print of Martha Graham, film posters, and drawings. Here’s more from the press release:

“His career began at Goldwyn Pictures in 1920 across the street from the main branch of The New York Public Library, and over the next nine decades, Hirschfeld and the Library became even closer. Hirschfeld availed himself of the Library’s book and picture collections, he attended its events, and was a lifelong supporter.”
