Do you consider yourself an introvert, ambivert, or extrovert? Rabia Kapoor has crafted a a moving poem called “The Introvert’s Banter.”
The video embedded above features Kapoor’s recitation at The Poetry Lounge event. Thus far, the piece has drawn more than 167,000 views on YouTube.
In an interview with BuzzFeed, Kapoor gave this statement: “I don’t write poems, but I wrote this when my friend convinced me to perform at Open Sky Slam. I was petrified and I refused for a very long time. To know that I’d be on the stage with a mic, in front of 300 people, and no one would interrupt me — it was a frightening thought. But I’ve received messages from people about the poem, and it’s so overwhelming.” (via StoryPick.)
