What’s the worst day-job you ever had? Every aspiring writer has a terrible story about what they did to pay the bills. Share your story on our Facebook page and you could win a copy of The Financial Lives of the Poets.

Harper Perennial will give two lucky GalleyCat readers a copy of Jess Walter’s new novel, a book about an poet with terrible business sense. Simply post about the worst day-job you ever had at this Facebook link. We will randomly select the winners from among the Facebook submissions. The complete guidelines are listed below.

Follow this link to post your day-job story, you have until Wednesday, September 22nd to submit. Here’s more about the novel: “A few years ago, small-time finance journalist Matthew Prior quit his day job to gamble everything on a quixotic notion: a Web site devoted to financial journalism in the form of blank verse. When his big idea–and his wife’s eBay resale business–ends with a whimper (and a garage full of unwanted figurines), they borrow and borrow, whistling past the graveyard of their uncertain dreams.”
