TED-Ed Lesson on The Evolution of Books

By Maryann Yin

Have you ever wondered about how books came to exist? The TED-Ed team has crafted a lesson to examine “the evolution of the book.”

The creators behind this video aimed to answer three questions: “What makes a book a book? Is it just anything that stores and communicates information? Or does it have to do with paper, binding, font, ink, its weight in your hands, the smell of the pages?” Over at the TED-Ed website, viewers can access a quiz, a discussion board, and more resources.
