In the new position, Black will supervise the publishers  “distribution client
relationships” and forge new business development opportunities. In 1999, Black co-founded CDS, a distribution company. Perseus Book Group acquired the company in 2005, and Black served as president of the merged operation.

Black had this statement: “Having competed against Simon & Schuster for many years, I know I am joining a first-rate team that offers distribution clients the best in both sales and across-the-board operational expertise … Our clients can expect that we will be working aggressively to grow their business and provide all the requisite fulfillment services in the most efficient and customer-friendly manner possible.”
