sonydailyedition.jpgThis morning Sony announced a brand-new “Daily Edition,” the company’s 3G wireless digital reader. Scheduled to be shipped in December, the device will sell for $399.

According to Gizmodo, the company showed off one copy of the new 7-inch wide touch screen device with AT&T-powered 3G at the press conference, but reporters couldn’t play with it. So far, the company has only teased digital book fans with that pictured, backwards look at the new reader.

Here’s more from the release: “The seven-inch wide, touch screen display provides for intuitive navigation and comfortable layout of content, including newspapers and magazines, whether you’re reading in portrait or landscape orientation … It has enough internal memory to hold more than one thousand standard eBooks and expansion slots for memory cards to hold even more. It will sell for about $399.”
