Simon & Schuster and Barnes & Noble have resolved their business problems and the book retailer. The companies released a joint statement explaining that they will work together to market and distribute books.
According to reports, the retailer had had a dispute with the publisher over book pricing. The spat resulted in Barnes & Noble stocking less Simon & Schuster titles.
The companies did not explain how they resolved the conflict. Carolyn K. Reidy, president/CEO of Simon & Schuster wrote in an email written to authors and agents:
While my greatest preference would be that the events of recent months had not happened, we are all pleased that once again we can focus entirely on the most important and enjoyable part of our business: bringing your books to readers everywhere and helping you find the audience your books deserve.
