Sheryl Sandberg’s ‘Lean In’ Gets Parody eBook

By Jason Boog

Comedians Alyssa Wolff and Alison Leiby have published a $3.99 eBook parody of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg‘s bestselling memoir, Lean In.

Lean Over: Women, Work, and Women’s Work is attributed to Cheryl Sandberger, a profane, sexist and unpleasant leader of an imaginary company. She recounts “personal stories about success,” and makes clueless assumptions about men, women and work. Here’s an excerpt:

In fact, almost 87% of all working mothers are women. I am aware of the criticism for speaking out about issues of inequality, or even really speaking at all because I’m a woman and no one asked me a question. But the publisher sent me a check, and someone to write it, and now I can add author to long list of accomplishments.  Please do not look to this book as a source of helpful advice, or guidance as you tackle your own career.  I cannot recall one woman who helped me in my life, so figure it out on your own.

The real Sheryl Sandberg recently annotated the introduction to her book on Rap Genius, the site where music fans, readers, legal scholars poets and authors can contribute notes about any kind of text.
