Seaburn Bookstore to Close

By Jason Boog

Seaburn Bookstore, an independent bookstore in Queens, is set to close.

After 16 years, the bookstore owner Sam Chekwas has decided to shutter the store. He hopes to open a smaller shop in Long Island City next year. We found the story on PageViews, a brand new book blog at the New York Daily News.

Here’s more from the new book blog: “People were in an outrage when St. Mark’s Bookshop nearly closed in the East Village. So where’s the outrage now? Rise up, hipsters of Astoria! Speak up, housewives of Floral Park! Put away your Kindles, get yourselves to Seaburn and buy an actual book.”
