Scribd Announces More Publisher Partnerships

logoscribd2.gif The online publishing site Scribd.com announced a growing list of partnerships today, including arrangements with Random House, Simon & Schuster, Workman Publishing, Berrett-Koehler, Thomas Nelson, and Manning Publications. According to TechCrunch, the company has raised $12.8 million in funding.

As GalleyCat reported in February, the social networking and document website, has grown to 50 million readers with 50,000 new writings uploaded every day. Bantam Dell has embedded Scribd viewers within their website. Writers like Tess Gerritsen and Charlie Huston have uploaded entire novels for free.
