great_wall_0272-300x225.jpgScreenwriter and writing teacher Blake Snyder died earlier this week. He leaves behind a collection of scripts and script-writing handbooks, including “Save the Cat! The Last Book on Screenwriting You’ll Ever Need.”

He co-wrote scripts for the films “Blank Check” and “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot,” but also found success teaching others how to write. His “Last Book on Screenwriting” is on its 16th printing, and Snyder spoke about screenwriting in appearances around the world.

Here’s more from screenwriter Tracey Jackson, quoted in the Hollywood Reporter obituary: “[Snyder] could tell you in two minutes why something didn’t work and in another three how to fix it. And unlike many with a great gift, he was not miserly. He felt it was his calling to help others help themselves and took great pride when those he helped found success.”
