Scholastic Hires Chief Experience Officer

heathermcintoshcassanoScholastic has hired Heather McIntosh Cassano as Chief Experience Officer, a newly created position.

In her new role, Cassano will work with the company’s various publishing departments to implement Schoh digital experiences. She will also lead the entire company’s user experience designers, prototypers and user researchers. Evolving the company’s website for elementary school teachers is her first mission. She will also work with product development and e-commerce employees to help ensure a consistent user experience across channels.

Cassano has more than twenty-five years of experience in user experience and product design. She comes to Scholastic from Pearson, where she served as Chief Experience Officer for about three years. Cassano has also held senior positions at Yahoo, Google, Symantec Corporation and Sun Microsystems. She received her B.A. in computer science from Boston College, and a Master of Fine Arts from Bennington College, Vermont.
