Scholastic Explores Cross Platform Storytelling With Horizon

By Dianna Dilworth

HORIZON_thumbnailScholastic is experimenting with a new multi-platform publishing program with the launch of the book series called Horizon.

The series will be part book series, part video game experience in which readers can test their own survival skills. The experience is reminiscent of Scholastic’s The 39 Cluesand Spirit Animals. The books will follow the story of a group of kids who survive a plane wreck only to find themselves in a supernatural world. Author Scott Westerfeld will write the first edition of this new adventure series. Jennifer A. Nielsen will write the second.

The first book is due out in January 2017. The second will follow in September 2017.
