The Book Standard (along with almost every other news outlet today) reports that J.K. Rowling will embark on a very limited American tour this fall to promote the final Harry Potter volume, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS. The tour, Rowling’s first in eight years, will include four events: two in New York, one in New Orleans and another in Los Angeles. Three of the events will be expressly for students while the final one, slated for Carnegie Hall in New York on October 19, will be open to 1,000 fans who win tickets through a sweepstakes sponsored by Scholastic, who will select the schools that will get to send some of their students to the events in September.
In other words, don’t even bother trying to get tickets unless you’re willing to sell your soul, multiple limbs and other body parts to do so.
