Ron Perlman Lands Deal for Memoir

By Jason Boog

sons304Sons of Anarchy and Hellboy star Ron Perlman has inked a book deal for his upcoming book, Easy Street—The Hard Way: A Memoir.

Da Capo Press will publish the memoir, recounting the actor’s “rising from the streets of New York City’s Washington Heights neighborhood.” Folio Literary Management agent Katherine Latshaw negotiated the deal with executive editor Ben Schafer. Perlman will work with author Michael Largo on the book. Perlman had this quote in the release:

When my children decided to enter a life in the arts … I began to feel a growing obsession to say something that would be helpful. I concluded that any counsel I could provide would be empty without a sense of perspective; who was I when I started and who am I now? What did the business of making art look like back then and how did it transform into what it is today? After 40 years, I have certainly gained a great deal of perspective. Another certainty is that I love movies more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. Cinema is too sacred a Humanity for us to leave in the hands of passionless, creativity-killing, corporate bottom-liners. Who we are as a culture is at stake. This is very personal for me. This is a chance to look back. And set the record straight.
