Recession Breeds Pulp Fiction Revival

By Jason Boog

After 25 years as a novelist and comic book scribe, Ron Fortier has launched a pulp fiction revival. His company, Airship27, brings back the pulp fiction characters that he thinks helped America cope with the Great Depression.

In this video, Fortier explained how these gloomy times have increased sales at his press. Over his career, Fortier has worked on The Hulk, Popeye, Rambo, The Green Hornet, and The Terminator comics. GalleyCat prowled the teeming, costumed crowd of true-believers at Comic Con this year, uncovering some vital intelligence about this flourishing corner of the publishing industry.
