Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers will publish a special deluxe edition of Christopher Paolini‘s Inheritance on October 23rd.

Here’s more from the release: “[This special edition] includes—in addition to the full text of Inheritance—gorgeous never-before-seen artwork by Christopher Paolini; an exclusive, full-color foldout poster by award-winning artist John Jude Palencar; a letter from Jeod, one of Eragon’s confidantes, summarizing life after the final scene of the series; a letter from Paolini to fans reflecting on the series, and a new scene within the text.”

On that same day, the publisher will also release Inheritance in paperback format as well as a box set containing all four books in the young adult series. Inheritance: Deluxe Edition will be priced at $29.99. Paolini (pictured, via) will hit the road on a promotional tour throughout the country; tour dates have not yet been announced.

With the support of his family in 2001, Paolini self-published Eragon, the first book of the Inheritance Cycle. After landing a book deal, Random House re-released Eragon in 2003. Inheritance concluded the series in 2011. Altogether, the four books have sold 34 million copies worldwide.
