Random House & Politico Team on ‘The Bookshelf Blog’

By Dianna Dilworth

bookshelfRandom House has partnered with Politico’s Bookshelf to create a new blog dedicated to political books called, ‘The Bookshelf Blog.’ The blog is an extension of the Politico Bookshelf, which launched back in 2011 and includes books from a variety of publishers on current events, politics, history, and biography.

Random House’s Joe Muscolino will write the blog which will cover politics and publishing, exploring political book deals, political book trends, required reading and the like. His posts include one about the film adaptation of Doris Kearns Goodwin’s new book Bully Pulpit (DreamWorks optioned the rights), Judy Blume’s take on censorship, as well as a piece on political adviser’s Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. take on Esquire.

The blog is divided into a number of categories. There is a section for book news, an area for book release updates, as well as required reading lists. There is also a Friday column dedicated to freedom of speech called, “First Amendment Fridays.”
