Since three authors (Victoria Schwab, Amanda Morgan, and Myra McEntire) launched an online charity auction on May 6th, the publishing community has raised more than $53,000 to support flood victims in Tennessee.

Publishers, authors, agents, publicists, and readers united at the Do the Write Thing for Nashville blog. Currently, they are auctioning a variety of literary items, including: a lunch with the famed agent blogger Miss Snark (now up to $425), massive YA writer support package from GotYA, and a lunch with authors Tasha Alexander and Andrew Grant in a city near you.

Organizer McEntire told GalleyCat: “We estimate well over 500 donations have come in, and we’ll close the auction after ten days. We have a graphic designer working on t-shirts to sell on the blog (profits will go to The Community Foundation) once the auction is over.”
