Publicity Tips for Authors: Don’t Forget Radio!

By Jeff Rivera

Throw a rock and you’ll hit an author who dreams of being on Oprah but some authors may forget a media tool that can be not only easier to access but just as effective and that is radio.

One of the best things about radio interviews is that you can do them in your pajamas and speak to literally millions of listeners all over the country from the comfort of your home.

To find out more about this we asked veteran book publicist Susan Schwartzman to give us her thoughts.

Q: What else can authors do other than television to publicize their books nationally?
SUSAN:
Radio phoner campaigns are a cost-effective way to maximize media coverage.

If you have a limited budget, a radio phoner campaign will reach thousands, if not millions, of readers across the country and you don’t have to leave your home or office. Many people listen to their favorite radio programs or channel-surf on their way to and from work and throughout the day.
