Following the difficult days of Hurricane Sandy, the Association of American Publishers (AAP) has extended the deadline for its 2012 American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE) until Friday, November 9.

They include five awards “chosen from 45 book, journal and eproduct categories.” Member publishers of the AAP, Association of American University Presses and Professional & Scholarly Publishing Division of the AAP are all eligible to submit. This will be the 37th year for the awards.

Here’s more about the awards: “one of the most prestigious programs honoring works in professional and scholarly publishing. It accepts submissions in more than 40 categories for books, reference works, journals and electronic products; these are judged by a 14-person panel of peer publishers, librarians and academics and evaluated on depth of scholarship, contribution to field of study, significance of the work and excellence in content and design.”
