nielsenbooksThink eBooks are killing print book sales? Think again.

According to the latest metrics from Nielsen BookScan unit sales of print books rose 2.4 percent in 2014. This accounts for more than 635 million units sold.

The increase was largely driven by retail and club sales, which were up 3.4 percent last year. Publishers Weekly has more: “Units through retailers and clubs, which include Amazon and all types of bookstores, rose to just under 519 million; in 2013, print units through the channel fell 2.5% compared to the previous year.”

Print’s rebound is also taking place in the UK. Waterstones recently reported an increase in print book sales, as eBook sales waned.
