Poetry Wins National Magazine Award

This afternoon Poetry magazine won a National Magazine Award for Digital Media in the podcasting category. We covered the awards live from the New York City ceremony.

In addition, the Virgina Quarterly Review won the multimedia package award for for “Assignment Afghanistan.” Tablet Magazine won the blogging award for The Scroll. We also left with some app-making advice from magazine publishers.

Here’s more from the release: “Publications that repeated as Digital Ellies winners from last year included Epicurious (which won the award for Interactive Tool in 2010); Foreign Policy (Blogging); Tablet Magazine (Podcasting); and Virginia Quarterly Review (News Reporting). Slate also won the National Magazine Award for General Excellence in 2003.”
