plasticlogic23.jpgThe e-reader company Plastic Logic has partnered with Olive Software to create better ways for major newspapers, magazines, and other publishers to distribute content on the soon-to-be released digital reading device.

Scheduled for an early 2010 release, the Plastic Logic reader will be about the size of a thin sheet of paper, with wi-fi and 3G capabilities. The new device will also allow readers to access PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents on the reader. Most recently, Olive Software helped create a digital version of USA Today for subscribers.

Here’s a statement from Plastic Logic’s VP of Business Development Daren Benzi: “We’re very focused on helping our publishing partners create unique reading experiences for the Plastic Logic Reader, and Olive is a valuable partner with us in achieving that goal. Olive brings deep experience in serving the needs of major publishers in the industry, including many of our strategic partners.”
