Pizza Hut’s BOOK IT Effort Goes Digital

Pizza Hut is teaming up with Amazon on this year’s BOOK IT! campaign, the fast food chain’s annual book giveaway to school kids.

Now in it’s 31st year, this is the first time the campaign has given away e-books to young readers. This year, Amazon is offering two free Kindle books to parents of BOOK IT! readers – You Are (Not) Small by Anna Kang and Christopher Weyant, and Secrets of the Book by teacher Erin Fry. Amazon is also discounting hundreds of Kindle children’s books to support the literacy push.

“Moving from print to digital books is a natural evolution for the BOOK IT! Program and working with Amazon means BOOK IT! parents will have instant access to books to help students reach their reading goals each month,” stated Shelley Morehead, manager of the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program.
